Carmen J. Maldonado of Brooklyn, New York passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2022 at John Knox Village in Lee's Summit, Missouri. Mrs. Maldonado was born May 4, 1936 in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico and passed away peacefully of natural causes at the age of 85. She was a homemaker, wonderful sister and mother who loved her family, helping others in need and had a passion for life.
Carmen is predeceased by her parents, Sotero and Julia Gomez, husband Miguel Maldonado, and nine siblings. She is survived by her brother Jose Gomez (Elsa), four children Wilfredo (Lela), Frances (Larry), Francisco (Mara) and Anthony (Elena), seventeen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.  After an extremely difficult last 10 years, we are grateful that our mother is now with our heavenly Father and rejoined with her departed loved ones.
A funeral service is scheduled for 12:00 pm on Monday, March 14th at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home in Riverview, Florida.
