Ella Smith, 90, of Riverview, Florida, died Saturday, December 9, 2017 at LifePath Hospice Care after contracting pneumonia. She was born July 10, 1927 in the family home in Cranston, Rhode Island. She completed hairdressing school while attending high school and owned her own hair salon in Providence for nearly 20 years. She was married to Frank W. Smith, Jr. of Coventry, RI for 52 years. In 1991, they retired to Port Charlotte, Florida and loved traveling and days on the beach.

Ella was preceded in death by her parents, Giuseppe and Lucy Antonacci, husband Frank W. Smith, Jr. and daughter Kathe Smith. She is survived by daughters Linda Smith of Riverview, FL and Bette (David) Poutre of Bellevue, NE, grandchildren, Allison (Ryan) Hampton and Chris (Maia) Poutre and four great grandsons, Cole, Easton, Logan and Ben Poutre.

A memorial service will be held at the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery in Exeter in summer 2018 where she will be laid to rest with Frank and Kathe. Invitations will be sent to family and friends.
