Brian Lee
Chapman
May 30, 1964 — August 2, 2021
Brian Lee Chapman, 57, of Riverview, FL passed from this life to eternal life on August 02, 2021 after a
short, but vigilant battle with cancer.
Brian was born in Waterville, Maine on May 30, 1964, son of the late William and Beatrice Chapman. He
is survived by his spouse, Phyllis Chapman, step son Nathan Berry, granddaughter Makyla Berry, two
brothers William and John Chapman, sister Laura Chapman, mother and father in law Dennis and
Martha Knapp, sister in law Elizabeth Groves and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Brian grew up in a household of 8 children, 4 children have preceded him in death. He also was a doting
father to son Brian, Jr (BJ) who also preceded him in death at the age of 15.
Brian served in the US Navy and was a proud patriot. He believed in our constitution and was proud to
have served his country. After his military duty, Brian worked his way up to a Manager for the City of
Tampa for 15 years and then made a change to the Parks and Recreation Department with Hillsborough
County. He was a hard worker and his co workers were like family to him.
Brian retired early as he suffered from numerous medical conditions. Unfortunately, cancer was the
final diagnosis. Our comfort in his passing is that "he is finally pain free"!
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Serenity Meadows Funeral
Home located at 6919 Providence Road, Riverview, FL 33578. A brief remembrance will be held inside
the chapel and then graveside service military style. Hors d'oeuvres and refreshments will be serviced
immediately after the service in the main building.
In lieu of flowers, we ask for donations to be made in his memory to Wreaths Across America. This
charity helps remember our fallen veterans and Brian would be honored that he played a part in their
support. The local chapter link is listed below.
