Betty Watts Gunnells Allen of Ruskin, FL passed away on December 18, 2016.
Born in Greenwood, SC on January 5, 1933. She was the daughter of the late, John Henry and Rachel Rebecca Judy Watts. She was the wife of the late, Henry Gunnells, Sr., and was also predeceased by her son, Henry Luther Gunnells Jr. and three sisters, Marie Watts Albea Benetau, Elizabeth Watts Perry, and Hattie Ruth Harris, also predeceased by a brother, John W. Watts.
She was a graduate of Self Memorial Hospital School of Radiologic Technology, in Greenwood, SC. In addition to serving as Assistant Chief Radiologic Technologist, she was also a Radiologic Technologist with the New Hanover Regional Medical Center and the Delaney Radiologists until her retirement in 1992.
She is survived by her daughter, Joan Allison Packlick and son-in-law, Edward Bettis Packlick, of Brandon, FL., her granddaughter, Cassandra Marie (Cassie) Schulze of Janesville, WI and several nieces and nephews along with numerous great nieces and nephews.
The Services will be private.
It was Ms. Allen's request that memorials be made to the Gideon's International or The Bethel Colony in Lenoir, NC.
