Betty Ann Martin the eldest child of three, born to Eddie Polite and Ernestine Knox. She was born in New Orleans LA, and at the age of 53 she moved to Fort Walton Beach FL where she lived for 8 years. Then at the age of 61 she moved to Ruskin FL where she lived until her death on January 31, 2012. Betty was a loving and kind woman who was known for caring for everyone around her. She believed in caring for your neighbor, and she made it a mission to pass that lesson on to her daughter. Betty married Reginald Martin on July 27, 1973; and from that union a daughter was born, Shannon Martin Lewis. In her mid thirties, Betty joined the First Pentecostal Church where she received the Holy Ghost. She remained at the First Pentecostal Church until her move to Ft Walton Beach FL. After her move she joined the Pentecostal Church in Ft Walton Beach and remained with them until her move to Ruskin FL. While in Ft Walton Beach Betty was a Youth Care Worker at Gulf Coast Youth Services for 7 years. When she moved to Ruskin she joined the First Apostolic Church and remained with them until her death. Betty's passion was caring for children and teaching them how to be the best they could be. Shopping was also another passion of hers that she gladly passed on to her daughter Shannon. Betty was preceded in death by her father and mother. Left to celebrate her life is her daughter, Shannon Lewis and her son-in-law, Rahsaan Lewis; her brothers, Bobby Polite and Alfred Polite; and her sister-in-law, Carol Polite; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends. There will be a funeral service on Monday, February 6, 2012 at 1:00 pm at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
