Bettie G. Pettys, age 83, of Brandon passed away Monday, June 26, 2017. Born March 18, 1934 in Dover, Florida. She was the daughter of Gertrude and John Vessel and was a loving Wife, Mother, and Granny to to all who knew her. She was united in marriage to Purvis "Ben" Pettys on January 20, 1951. He preceded her in death on April 23, 2010. They were married for 66 blissful years. She is survived by her children and their spouses; Kenny Pettys and wife Pat, Debbie Newton and husband Bill, Tony Pettys and wife Wendy, and adopted daughter Rhonda Scaife. Grandchildren Kasey White, Jason White, Taylor Cauley and husband Ethan, Justin Pettys, Rily Scaife, A.J. Scaife, and Amy Newton. She was also blessed with 3 great-granddaughters Makayla, Makenzie, and Nikki White and her beloved pet Patches. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 30, 2017 at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with a funeral service to be held at 11:00 a.m. Graveside burial at Serenity Meadows Memorial Park will follow immediately.
