Bertie Mae Wingard died July 27, 2010, in Battle Creek, Michigan. She was born August 27, 1926 to Henry and Ada (Baxter) Cumbie in Chipley, FL. She married William Wingard March 7, 1951. Over the years Bertie lived in the Tampa, Riverview and Venice, FL; Ohio; Jackson, MI; Opp, AL; and spent her final years in Battle Creek, MI. Bertie worked most of her life with the majority of her employment at Hav-A-Tampa Cigar Company in Tampa, and Michigan Seed Company in Jackson, MI. She enjoyed sewing, fishing and reading, but mostly she enjoyed being a Mother and Grandmother. Bertie is survived by two sons, Clarence Cumbie of Opp, AL; Richard (Sharon) Wingard of Battle Creek, MI; a daughter Sheila (Larry) Guisinger of Sarasota, FL; three sisters: Beth Hodnett , Dorothy Oliver and Grace Cumbie all of Florida; twelve grand children and thirteen great-grand children. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. Graveside services will be Tuesday, August 3 at 10AM at Serenity Meadows Memorial Park in Riverview, FL.
