Obituary

Fisher, Bernadette M. O'Malley aka Bernie., 78 of Gibsonton passed away July 16, 2015. Born on May 1, 1937 in Waterloo, NY, Bernie spent most of her life in Gibsonton where she raised her family. She retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 32 dedicated years. Bernie never met a stranger and could brighten even the darkest day with her smile. She loved to read, do crossword puzzles, and spending time with family. Bernie loved animals and rescued many strays in the area. She lived selflessly and was the matriarch of a loving family, including her sons: James, Ronald, Vincent, Harold, and Bradley; daughters: Patricia, Yvonne, and Jacqueline; grandchildren: Michel V, Bradley, Timothy, Christian, Erin, Colin, Shania, Natalie, Kimberly, Rachel, and Olivia; great-grandchild: Michel VI; brothers: James Matrone, Leo Young, and Ron Fisher; and sisters: Shirley Matrone, Margaret Taite, and Beverly French. Bernie was an inspiration and the embodiment of love. The viewing will take place on Wednesday, July 22 from 10-11am at First Baptist of Gibsonton. The funeral service will be at 11:00 followed by the committal at Serenity Meadows Memorial Park. In honor of Bernadette, flowers may be delivered to the church or donations made in her name to the SPCA at www.spcatampabay.org.
