Rice, Beatrice D. 87, of Valrico passed away on December 31, 2011. Originally from Illinois, she moved here to the Valrico area in 1980 from Miami. She was a homemaker who loved caring for her family and enjoyed floral arranging and painting. Bea is survived by her daughters, Dolores Stephens; Joyce Birth; Carole (Mac) Fewox; Darlene (Mike) Royal; Debra Moritz; brothers, William Duke, Carl Duke; Joseph (Helen) Duke; Daniel (Sharon) Duke; Terrell (Diane) Duke; Gerald (Dorothy) Duke; 12 grand children, 22 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her parents, Ivey and Annie Mae Duke; husband of 64 years, Zelmer; brother, Lyman Paul Duke; sisters, Helen Vickers and Lois Duke. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home in Riverview. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.
