Plante, Barbara, 59, of Apollo Beach passed away on August 3, 2012. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Dennis; her best and dearest friend, Maryann Koch; her brother G. Patrick Toole; numerous Toole family uncles, aunts and cousins; in-laws, Archie and Shirley Plante; sister-in-laws, Denise Cote and Lisa Plante; and brother-in-laws, Paul Plante and Donald Plante. She was predeceased by her father, George Toole; her mother, Jeanne Toole Waring; and step-father, Stewart Waring all of Sag Harbor, NY. Barbara was a lover of knowledge and the arts, with an undergraduate in Fine Arts and a graduate degree in Library Sciences. She embraced an eclectic blend of interests from archeology and anthropology to the hard sciences to fiction and science fiction novels. She was a huge fan of the 50's science fiction movies and monsters and also of more contemporary disaster films. She was a voracious reader who truly loved books, both the classics and modern works. She thoroughly enjoyed the challenges of the NY Times Sunday crossword puzzles. Barbara worked for the Hillsborough County library system for several years and continued as a volunteer for many years after her retirement from the system. She also volunteered at C.A.R.E. early in the establishment of that no-kill shelter. Finally, she loved her three cats, Casey, Iris, and Aurora who will greatly miss her loving and gentle ways. Barbara's family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at South Bay Hospital and the nurses and staff of the LifePath Hospice House for their efforts on Barbara's behalf and their many acts of kindness and compassion. Donations may be made, in lieu of flowers, to LifePath Hospice, 3010 W. Azeele Street, Tampa, FL 33609.
