Mangano, Barbara Elaine, 68, passed away at her Riverview, FL home with her family by her side on the 28th of March, 2009, from Cancer. Barbara Bjers, a native of East Liverpool, OH was born on January 8th, 1941. She married Francis Mangano on April 28, 1962. She was a devoted mother and a successful business woman, working as an interior designer in the Tampa Area. She and her family moved to Tampa, FL in 1982 where she would begin another chapter in her life, yet continue to be a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Francis J. Mangano. She is survived by her daughter, Katharine (David II) Hall of Prince George, VA; son, Michael Mangano of Riverview, FL; grandsons, David Hall III, Benjamin Hall both of Prince George, VA, and Matthew Mangano of Riverview, FL; granddaughter, Lauren (Daniel) Jarvis of Honolulu, HI; and a special blessing, her great-granddaughter, Grace Jarvis.
Barbara was an inspiration to those who were close to her. She developed breast cancer in March of 2007 and through determination, faith, strength and love she overcame it when it went into remission. Her cancer returned in October of 2008, she faced it with the love and support of family and close friends and fought it long enough to see everyone, including her newborn great-granddaughter, in order to let them know how much they meant to her. She passed peacefully in her home with her family at her side.
