Armando Rodrigues, 62, passed away peacefully in Tampa, Florida, on May 29, 2022.

Born in Arcos de Valdevez, Portugal, he migrated with his family to Elizabeth, New Jersey. There he graduated from Elizabeth High School and went on to attend Rutgers University. Armando pursued a lifelong career in banking, held positions on various boards including The Elizabeth Development Company and participated in a multitude of organizations and volunteer groups. He was a pillar in not only the Portuguese community but also in the city of Elizabeth and its improvement. His hobbies included playing golf, poker nights with friends and dabbling in his creative side with art and photography.

He was predeceased by his parents Luis and Maria Rodrigues. Armando is survived by his two devoted daughters, Stephanie Mercado and her husband, Al and Lindsey Pabst and her husband, Brian; his best friend and brother, Jose Rodrigues; his loving ex-wife, Luisa Avila; and his five cherished grandchildren Alexander, Gianna, Jayden, Olivia, and Jaxon.

Armando was larger than life, quick-witted and always had a joke on hand for any occasion. Not only was he a hard worker but he thrived on sharing his accomplishments with his colleagues. Having come from humble beginnings, he knew the hardships that came with attaining success and always extended opportunities to those around him. He was a devoted family man and a dedicated friend to all who knew and loved him. His fighting spirit, devout faith and unwavering will to live, shined even through his illness.

He was deeply loved and will be deeply missed. Services will be kept private.
