Obituary

Anthony Gullo, born May 6, 1960, in the Bronx, New York, passed away on November 2, 2026.

Anthony was born to Fred Gullo and Joan Giorgio and raised in the Bronx, where he met the love of his life, Veronica Van Bomel. He was the proud father of four children: Michelle, Eric, Anthony, and Nicholas. As life took him through different chapters, he eventually left the Bronx and made his home on Long Island, where he and Veronica built their life together. Later in life, after his children were grown, Anthony and Veronica moved to Florida to begin their next chapter together.

Anthony was a proud Italian American, deeply connected to his family’s heritage and traditions. His family’s roots traced back to Bari, Italy, where his grandfather, Luigi Giorgio, began a legacy that would influence Anthony’s own path in business. Anthony inherited the family ice delivery business and carried that same drive and instinct for making a deal throughout his life. Italian traditions remained an important part of family life, especially the gatherings and food that brought everyone together, including the cherished tradition of the Feast of the Seven Fishes at Christmas. He also grew up appreciating the wonderful Italian cooking of his mother, Joan.

A natural dealmaker, Anthony had an unmistakable ability to sell just about anything to anyone. His ventures included operating several coffee truck routes, used car lots, a cell phone store, a furniture store, managing rental properties, and eventually pursuing countless buying and selling opportunities. He had a particular passion for classic cars, especially the great American muscle cars of the 1960s and 1970s. His beloved 1967 Chevelle held a special place among his favorites, along with his appreciation for the Pontiac GTO. He loved collecting cars, attending car shows, and, perhaps most importantly, the many lasting friendships he made along the way.

But more than any business or car, Anthony will be remembered for his personality. He was outgoing, funny, blunt, and a natural storyteller, with a laugh that was unmistakably his and that those who knew him will never forget. He had a gift for conversation, a talent for making connections, and an enthusiasm for life that carried into everything he did. Whether he was negotiating his next deal or telling a story among family and friends, Anthony always left an impression.

Above all, Anthony was devoted to his family. He shared close bonds with his children and took tremendous joy in being a grandfather. He was happiest when he could get down to his grandchildren’s level and simply act like a kid alongside them. He loved swimming with them, chasing geckos, playing, laughing, and making memories. His eight grandchildren, Sabrina, Victoria, Anthony, Julianna, Dominic, Gabriella, Lily, and Harper, along with his great-grandchild, Silver, brought him immense joy and pride.

Anthony is survived by his beloved wife, Veronica; his children Eric, Anthony, and Nicholas; his daughters-in-law Sarah and Michelle; his eight grandchildren and great-grandchild Silver; his brother Louis; and many cherished brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. He was predeceased by his daughter Michelle, his parents Fred and Joan, and his brother Fred.

Anthony leaves behind a legacy of family, friendship, laughter, and a knack for finding the next opportunity that never slowed down. He will be remembered for his unmistakable laugh, his endless stories, his love of a good deal, his passion for classic cars, and, most of all, the love he had for his family.

He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

There will be a visitation held for Anthony from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 6, 2026 at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m.
