IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Anne Glassman
Higham
May 31, 1951 – March 12, 2022
We are sad to announce the passing of Anne "Annie" Glassman Higham, aged 70, due to a recent and quick death from pancreatic cancer. Not only was she a wife, mother, and Bubbie, she was a great shopper and world traveler. She had the greatest smile and could light up any room. Given the chance, she would steal a microphone and put on a performance on a dime.
Annie grew up in West Hartford, CT, went to college (or as she likes to say, went skiing) in Vermont. She moved to South Florida in the early 70's. On a hot Florida day, she met her husband, Timmy, when he stole her raft at Hollywood Beach. They were married in 1975. She had her first daughter, Dana, in 1977. Dana would be her caretaker and Fanilow twin. In 1979 her favorite daughter, Gabby, was born. They would be the greatest friends and co-shoppers.
Annie traveled all over the world with Tim. They have thousands of memories going to Japan, Turkey, Machu Picchu, Sweden, and more. Dana and Gabby had to endure years of watching their 8mm vacation films, all while never being invited. In the mid-90's they moved to Tampa, FL. Annie worked almost 20 years for Hillsborough County. Annie's two greatest joys in life were her two granddaughters, Hadarah and Melana. She was the greatest Bubbie, and loved and doted on them with all of her being.
Annie leaves behind her heart broken husband, Timothy; stubborn daughter, Dana (Stephen) McClendon; favorite daughter, Gabrielle (Frank) Harrison; fearless granddaughter, Hadarah Schell; compassionate granddaughter, Melana Schell; brother Howard (Diane Salz) Glassman; sister Robin (Peter) Turkell; brothers-in-law William Higham, Michael Higham, Stephen Higham, Dennis Higham, and Terry Higham; sisters-in-law Kathy (Alfredo Iavarone) Higham, Jane (Carl) Thiel, and Susan (Thomas) Baker, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Gertrude and Harold Glassman.
We will miss you and love you forever. Thank you for the turkey dinner.
