Slater, Angela M., 53, of Brandon, passed away on February 4, 2016. She was an amazing wife, mother, coach, teacher and friend. Angela is survived by her loving family, husband of 35 years, Ronald Slater, Sr.; children, Christian Slater, Ronald "RJ" Slater, Jr., and Cody Slater; siblings, Billy Wayne "Bubba" England, Jr, DeLaina "DeeDee" Mohammed, and Craig "Scooter" England; and several nieces and nephews. She attended Pensacola Junior College from 1981 to 1983 and was a Junior College Softball National MVP. From there she attended University of South Florida from 1983 to 1985, where she was an Academic All-American. Angela was a teacher and softball coach at Brandon High School from 1985 to 1998 and at Riverview High School from 1998 to the present. She also served as the PE Department Head, a PE teacher and the Golf Coach at Riverview High School. She had a tremendous love and a passion for the game of softball, leading the Riverview Sharks to 2 state softball championships and over 500 softball victories. In 2009 Angela as the softball coach of the year. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Riverview High School softball field. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Angela Slater Family Foundation, Inc. Angela is loved by her family and friends; they will miss her always and forever.
