Ana Lydia
Ruiz
November 28, 1932 — May 4, 2021
Ana Lydia Ruiz, 88, of Morristown, TN and Florida, passed away on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at the Sun city Center Hospice House in Ruskin, FL. Born on November 28, 1932 in Puerto Rico to the proud parents of Juan & Lenor (Santiago) Ruiz, Ana came to Florida in 1996, coming from Puerto Rico.
Ana was known for being a very giving & Loving person, who gave from her heart to all, which sometimes included total strangers.
She was well known in the community for her pastelles. This Puerto Rican dish is usually prepared around Christmas holidays. Even though she was a full-time employee of Walmart, she would get home and start the preparation which took four or five hours. People who came to visit from Puerto Rico would order pastelles & take back to the island. Even though it was a dish made around December, people would order them at different times during the year. She just enjoyed making them and hearing people marvel how good they were.
Survivors include her sons: Edwin (Sira) Mourino of Orlando, FL and Cesar (Luz) Mourino of Morristown, TN and her four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 12:00PM on Friday, May 21, 2021 at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home with burial to follow at our Serenity Meadows Memorial Park in Riverview, FL. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to her service from 11:00AM-12:00PM.
