Amy Eileen (Manthei) Thien

August 26, 1974 – March 9, 2023

Amy Eileen (Manthei) Thien, age 48, of Lithia, FL passed away on March 9, 2023. She was born on August 26, 1974 and grew up in Menomonee Falls, WI. She married Douglas Thien on June 24, , 2007 and they have one daughter, Anna. Amy developed a passion for supporting other military spouses and families find their way at a new duty station as they, themselves had, multiple times up and down the Eastern Seaboard during Douglas' USNaval service. Their final duty station brought them back to Tampa, where Amy became an active volunteer at Anna's schools, sports and loved being Anna's Girl Scout Troop Leader.

Amy was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called ALK in July of 2021 and became committed to working for a cure and participating in research both in life and in death. Her mantra was Research Life.

Amy is survived by her husband, Douglas and daughter Anna, stepsons Jacob and Riley; her parents, Jim and Sue Manthei; her brother, Michael (Meganne) Manthei, nephew Alex and niece Abby; In-laws, Donald and Marianne Thien, sister-in-law Melissa Mack (Dan), nephew Carson and niece Clare; along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Amy's memorial service will be held at Serenity Meadows on Thursday, March 16, 2023 with visitation beginning at 2:00 and service at 3:00pm.
