Celebrating the life of

Amadeo Rodriguez Gonzalez

Born July 1 st, 1940 and called to heaven at the age of 79 on January 24 th 2020 at 1:20pm surrounded by his loved ones. Amadeo was born in Barranquitas, Puerto Rico. He was the son of Carmelo Rodrigurez and Filomena Gonzalez; husband of the late Lydia Maria Rivera; father to five daughters: Wanda Rodriguez, Dalin Rodriguez, Delia Aries, Edna Rosado, and Aileen Gonzalez; Grandfather of Sharleen Jiminez, Anthony Garrido, Alberto Dastas, Ciana Gonzales and Julian Rosado; Great grandfather to Justin Misner and Jayliana Soto.

Amadeo moved to Philadelphia from Puerto Rico in 1979 to provide a better life for his wife and daughters. It was there he was well known in the neighborhood and loved by everyone. He had an open-door policy and welcomed everyone in, whether it be for a meal or for an extended stay. He had a warm kind and loving heart, and was always willing to help someone in need. His house on 6 th street was always full of his daughter's friends, who were like daughters and family to him.  He was an amazing handy man and always found personal projects around anyone's house, upgrading it out of kindness of his own heart. He was also well known for giving anything away if it were possible, especially if it was the hat on his head or the shirt off his back. He eventually moved to Florida in 2009 and continued to touch many more people with his loving demeanor.

Amadeo had a caring and infectious personality; he was well known for entertaining in various ways. Affectionately known as Pops or abuelo, he was like everyone's father or grandfather because he would show everyone so much love. You could constantly expect him to have a joke or comment in hand and a comedic yet sarcastic comment about anything and everything; he was always dancing, laughing, and spreading love.  Amadeo had many hobbies as well; you could always catch him playing dominos, computer games, the lotto, and tending to his gardens.

We honor him for who he was: a true family man who was always about family, gatherings, unity, laughter and above all loving. Always dancing, laughing, and being a jokester, he will live on through his daughters, grandchildren, great grandchildren, friends and all the people he touched in such a vibrant way. He will live in the hearts of many forever.
