Obituary

Agnes "Aggie" Ann Wright died Tuesday, November 17, 2020 with family by her side, in Brandon, Fl. Graveside memorial service will be held at 10 am at Serenity Meadows in Riverview, Fl.

Aggie was born October 16, 1931 in Rockford, MI, her parents were Ruth Wolter and Ivan Dickinson. She grew up in the Great Depression, and like many of that generation, it shaped her life. Along with her parents and older brother Junior, they travelled with a road construction crew that her father was a forman of. They often lived in a tent, enduring the hardships of life on the road with their dog DeeDee. Circumstances changed and Aggie soon found herself traveling on a ferry across Lake Michigan to Reedsburg, Wisconsin with her mom and brother to live with family. Eventually they came to Harvard, Illinois and had a new man in their lives, Howard Wheeler. "Pa" would be the father she never had before. Two more siblings were added, William "Bill" and James "Jim" Wheeler. Becoming an adult in a small midwest town, she soon married after graduating Harvard High School. They moved to Woodstock, Illinois and Rick was born in 1951 to Aggie and Henry Repp, with Scott following in 1953 and then Penny in 1957. After divorcing, Aggie did her best to support her family as a single mom, working factory jobs to pay the bills. She then met and married Mr. Heinz, and had a fourth child, John in 1965.

After a move to Florida in 1968, she became a single mom again with 4 kids. A secretarial job and the 2 older boys working jobs after school helped sustain them. Rick volunteered for the Army and was off to Vietnam when "Chuck" Wright found her. He was still in Marengo, and soon Aggie was heading back to her Illinois home base. They married in November, 1970 and were together until Chuck's death in August, 2018.

Aggie was a homemaker and usually never travelled often or far. The exception was to fly to Florida, where her 2 oldest sons now resided and her parents and brother, Junior. In 1983, Aggie and Chuck moved back to Florida to the house that they had kept. Both were "retired", but Chuck worked as a tour guide at Gator Jungle and Aggie would sometimes help in the gift shop. Her Pa passed in 1983, her Ma passed in 2000, after living with and being taken care of by Aggie for a few years.

Aggie and Chuck continued on, slowing down over time. She found herself in a role she found familiar - as Chuck's caregiver. Doing her best to help him cope with Parkinson's, they continued living a quiet life in their Valrico home. After Chuck's death, her own health declined and she moved to assisted living in Brandon. She lived there about a year and had recently turned 89.

Aggie is survived by her 4 kids, Rick Heinz, Scott Heinz, Penny Fischer, and John Heinz, her brother Jim, many grandkids and many more great grandkids.
